should we have to live off base!

Let me start off by saying that we will be living on Camp Pendleton. It makes it a much easier commute for Rob and that holds the highest of importance to me, but a girl can dream, right? I fantasize about living out in town/San Clemente. A part of me desires to feel like everyone else. Not restricted to base. Of course being on base makes life a lot more safe and you are guaranteed to be around at least a hand full of people that are sharing the same emotions majority of the time. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a part of the Marine Corps, I've loved everything about it, but living outside the gates gives me a different kind of freedom. I can't put it into words, it's just a feeling.

While internet-daydreaming, I came across this place. BRE Properties - Pinnacle at Talega. It's in San Clemente and 18 minutes away from my friend Jenni that lives on base. Of course it's beautiful and within our budget. The whipped cream on the pie is that they are pet friendly. Of course some breed restrictions apply. I'm not sure if Diesel would be welcomed there or not. For now, I will say yes!!! It is also on the smaller side... 1100 sq ft small & less to clean. ;-) Not that I care, but they offer an 18-hole Fred Couples "Signature" golf course & 19 miles of hiking (I do care about the hiking part).
